“One friend, one person who is truly understanding, who takes the trouble to listen to us as we consider a problem, can change our whole outlook on the world.”

— Dr. E. H. Mayo

The Acacia Center therapists strive to partner with their clients and work to create a treatment environment and plan that is conducive to healing.  Eliminating dis-ease from the lives of those seeking our services is a goal of our agency.  Our Psychotherapists strive to increase the client’s sense of well-being.   You can expect a one-on-one process of deeply listening to, learning from, and working with the protective or wounded parts of yourself. You will have the opportunity to become conscious of your inner world and caring for self.  These steps help a person to heal, change, and grow.

Throughout this practice the client will explore feelings, behaviors and relationships.   They often discover manners in which they may have denied themselves love and happiness.  After shedding light on unhealthy behaviors, beliefs, physical sensations and thoughts, clients can work to establish healthy pattern that promote growth and development.

What to Expect:

In the initial session, clients will complete an assessment with their therapist.  During session number one your therapist will be gathering background that may affect the problem you are seeking treatment form.  This will include completing forms, checklists and an interview with your therapist.  We will discuss the diagnosis with you either in that session or the next session.  After explaining the diagnosis, the therapist will discuss treatment options and work with you to develop a treatment plan that is customized to your needs.  You will then begin to meet with your therapist on a regular basis focusing on the treatment modalities that fit your situation.
